We lost a truly wonderful character on Sunday, February 16 when Clinton E. Frank, Jr. succumbed to end stage heart failure. Clint, a native of Winnetka and long-time resident of Northfield, attended Avoca School, The Lawrenceville School and University of North Carolina where he met the mother of his two children, Mary Beth Guille (Guilly). He met his current wife, Victoria Carr, when Sabra Capulli (Barrington) introduced them in 1988.

A superior athlete, Clint received his “letter” in LaCrosse at UNC. He played football, hockey, tennis and baseball in school and excelled at golf as an adult. (No one will ever forget the longest ball exploit at Lake Geneva Country Club.) He hunted upland game and fly-fished out west (the tales of these trips with friends are legend).

Clint was a renaissance man who played violin as a young man (his sibs tell me that he was quite skilled), was a terrific dancer, a classic music lover but also loved the blues and rock ‘n roll (especially The Eagles). He cooked (how about Uncle Art’s blue cheese dip?) and was a skilled bartender (side cars!). He loved to travel, ride around Big Cedar Lake in his “martini barge” and share tall tales.

Clint is survived by his wife, two children (Clint III and Carter Magnell) and five grandchildren (Gus, Sam, Piper, Charlotte and Max – in birth order).
